We recently had the pleasure of visiting our Victorian Casa, the Lighthouse Foundation, with an enthusiastic group of Independent Members. It was an opportunity to learn about the organisation’s important work to end youth homelessness, and to present them with a cheque for $95,000 from Herbalife Nutrition Foundation in support of kitchen renovations and their nutrition education program.
“We truly recognise that Lighthouse Foundation are working to make a genuine difference within our community,” said Peter Hurley, General Manager, Herbalife Nutrition Australia and New Zealand.
“Grant funding is made possible due to our members’ fundraising efforts. Our members really want to help provide better nutrition and education to kids around Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
Lighthouse Foundation Founder, Susan Barton AM, said that this upgrade will rejuvenate the ‘heart of Lighthouse’ which is currently outdated and rundown.
“We are so eternally grateful to the Herbalife Nutrition Foundation for their ongoing support and especially the opportunity to upgrade our facilities to ensure our youth receive good nutrition and are exposed to nutrition education.”
Lighthouse Foundation CEO, Simon Benjamin, said Herbalife Nutrition have supported their Youth Nutrition Project which has allowed their young people to understand the value of good nutrition’s impact on their health and energy.
“Our young people have been able to establish goals and develop important life skills around shopping, cooking, and serving meals to ensure they can be self-sufficient into the future,” he said.
